To celebrate Mastercard’s status as a principal sponsor of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, we teamed up with PR agency Tinker Tailor Trouble Maker to give members of the public the experience of being tackled by a professional rugby player.
To achieve this we partnered with haptic feedback pioneers Teslasuit, who have developed a full length wearable suit that can simulate physical sensations such as punches explosions, or in our case, the impact of 17 stone rugby player running at them at full speed.
Choosing between Maggie Alphonsi, Jason Robinson and Chris Robshaw, some fans were even lucky enough to be suprised by them in person as they took of their VR headset, creating some lovely moments.
